Green light for Zunker Street Upgrade

The much anticipated $6.6 million town centre redevelopment project is now underway in Burnett Heads. The upgrade to Zunker Street will see widened footpaths, on-street car parking, landscaping, WiFi access, the provision of footpath dining for local shops and sewerage infrastructure.   

The town centre is currently home to take away stores, cafes, a bakery, post office, news agency, hair and beauty salon, retail stores, the Lighthouse Hotel and an IGA supermarket. 

The Zunker Street precinct is only 1km from RV Oceanside – a 3 min drive or a short walk from your front door.  We’re delighted to see that both the State Government and the Bundaberg Regional Council are committed to investing in local projects like this – making it more enjoyable to live in and visit Burnett Heads.
